The
Abu Dhabi Police GHQ renewed the cooperation agreement with its British
counterpart, the Metropolitan Police, in all areas of police work. The
agreement will allow both parties to exchange information and expertise
and improve development opportunities.
The agreement was signed
by Major General Mohamed bin Al Awadi Al Menhali, Director General of
Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, and Metropolitan Police
Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe.
Major General Al Menhali
stressed that renewing the agreement with Met Police reflects the police
leadership’s directives to strengthen cooperation with police
institutions worldwide, and leverage the best practices to improve
performance, and the quality of services, as well as fight crime in
general.
Major General Al Menhali had visited the United Kingdom
with an Abu Dhabi Police delegation, where he held talks with
Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe. Discussions
focused on enhancing all aspects of cooperation in police work,
implementing best practices, and leveraging mutual expertise to improve
performance and service quality. Both parties also discussed ways to
meet the challenges of policing at the global level.
Major
General Al Menhali also met with Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh, Essex
Police Commander. During the meeting, both parties discussed issues of
mutual interest. The visiting delegation was acquainted with the
international-best practices adopted by the Essex Police, as well as its
experience in maintaining a fully integrated HR service with Kent
Police.
The Director General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi
Police emphasized the importance for both parties to share their
respective experiences in the area of human resources to improve staff
members’ performance. “The Abu Dhabi Police strategy and action plans
are part of a collective work methodology to promote sustainable
improvement and development of human resource capabilities, and to
provide distinguished police services, in line with the UAE vision
2021,” pointed out Major General Al Menhali. He also noted that
improving human resources at Abu Dhabi Police is achieved in accordance
with the best international standards.
In conclusion, Major
General Al Menhali indicated that the Abu Dhabi Police’s human resources
strategy focuses on attracting distinguished human cadres. It also
strives to improve their efficiency through continuous qualification and
training courses that are based on modern and advanced scientific
systems to cope with rapid global changes and developments in human
resources. “These efforts have allowed the Abu Dhabi Police to make
significant achievements in the field of human resources and obtain
international awards, ultimately leading to an improved performance,”
said Major General Al Menhali.
