The Abu Dhabi Police concluded training of a number of police staff members from Dubai and the northern emirates to fulfill security duties in the protection of government and diplomatic facilities, as per international best advanced standards. The training was carried out in cooperation with the French Police, at the Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department’s headquarters.
Colonel Thani Butti Al Shamesi, Head of the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police’s Human Resources Directorate General, explained that the course embodies the police leadership’s instructions to apply international best practices, and keep abreast of the latest developments in the theoretical and practical training fields, applied by international police bodies in developed countries.
He also noted that course was supervised by 2 French Police experts, Assistant Commander of the French republican Guard at the Élysée, Captain Raphael Olmi and Assistant Commander of the Intervention Brigade No 32, Paris, Captain Jean Baptiste Schalle, supervised the training.
Colonel Al Shamesi noted that participants were acquainted with the best security means to handle security situations related to government and diplomatic premises protection. They also attended debates and video presentations comprising a summary of the theoretical lectures about the training they received throughout the course.
Colonel Al Shamesi added that participants provided feedback about the course’s importance and how much they benefited from the knowledge they have acquired to enhance police work. In conclusion, he praised the French experts' efforts and their active and continued cooperation to share their acquired know-how in the advanced training fields, with a view to promote security and safety.
