The Al Ain Traffic Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police set up an awareness-raising pavilion at the Al Ain Festival of Culture and Arts, under the theme “Thank You Khalifa”. The festival is organized by Al Ain Municipality at Al Jahili Garden, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, and features cultural and heritage performances, recreational activities and exhibits, along with traditional food. Major Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, Chief of Al Ain Traffic Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, stressed that the participation is in pursuance of the section’s commitment to enhance community-based partnership at various government and private events, to promote traffic awareness among community members. Major Al Hemairi also noted that awareness-raising leaflets were distributed to visitors of various ages at the Al Ain Traffic Section’s pavilion. “The people in charge of the pavilion also answered visitors’ questions and queries. A number of traffic-themed gifts were also distributed to visitors,” indicated Major Al Hemairi.
For his part, First Lieutenant Nasser Khalifa Al Shamesi, Acting Public Relations Branch Manager at the Al Ain Traffic Section noted that the section displayed a number of its vehicles at the festival, such as the Traffic Education Patrol, the Polaris quad bike, in addition to its Chevy Camaro sports patrol car. “These vehicles were displayed opposite to the section’s pavilion in the exhibition at the garden. Moreover, visitors were acquainted with the tasks and duties of these patrols and their awareness-raising role,” stressed First Lieutenant Al Shamesi.
It is worth mentioning that many government and private entities took part in the festival. The activities included daily competitions and police dog shows on the stage set up for this purpose.
