Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, examined the two distinguished awards obtained by the Abu Dhabi Police for the second consecutive time, notably the Best Government Authority Award won by Abu Dhabi Police's CityGuard smart phone application for its distinguished performance in responding to customers' cases. The award was dedicated to Abu Dhabi Police GHQ for its special participation in Abu Dhabi E-Government Initiative. The second award acknowledges the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ as one of the top three government departments for its distinguished performance and its participation in the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Center System.
Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior said: “This achievement comes as a response to His Highness' instructions, and stems out of the abiding faith in Abu Dhabi Police GHQ`s vision, which seeks to efficiently establish Abu Dhabi Emirate as one of the safest and most secure cities in the world.”
Major General Al Nuaimi pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ is keen to provide U.A.E. citizens and residents with high quality police services, as high standards of safety and security have become a prerequisite worldwide, to achieve a safer, secure and prosperous life to all society members. He added: “Abu Dhabi Police are constantly seeking to provide the public with distinguished services.”
The awards were presented to His Highness by Major Mohammad Ismail Al Harmoudi, Head of the Complaints and Suggestions Department at the Ministry of Interior's Strategy and Performance Development Directorate General; Major Ka’b Saeed Al Ka’bi, Chief of the Complaints and Suggestions Section at the Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police; and Captain Omar Salem Al Ka’bi from the Department.
The work team briefed His Highness on the efforts exerted by the Complaints and Suggestions Section affiliated with the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, in terms of developing a mechanism to receive complaints, suggestions and queries and responding to these issues in record time. His Highness congratulated the team for securing the award, and urged them to pursue further excellence in police work to provide better services to the community.
For his part, Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, said: “The Abu Dhabi Police has managed to respond to all cases, including customers' grievances and suggestions communicated via the CityGuard application, according to the standard response time rates set by Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC); thus positioning itself at the forefront of governmental institutions and departments in providing the fastest response time. This includes the referral of all requests to Abu Dhabi Police's relevant departments, which in turn have responded in the best possible way." Colonel Al Dhaheri also noted that community members' transactions and feedback regarding police performance are being processed by qualified staff, working in the fastest and most accurate way according to the system.”
Colonel Al Dhaheri stressed the importance of the award recently obtained by the ADP’s Complaints and Suggestions Department at the sixth edition of the Abu Dhabi E-Government Forum, which was attended by the various government authorities and departments in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. He said: “The award represents a valuable incentive for ADP’s qualified staff members operating the system. It would also contribute to constantly improve the quality of services provided to the public, in line with the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ strategy”.
Adding further, Colonel Al Dhaheri noted that the CityGuard application, which was adopted by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council’s Executive Committee, and supervised by Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Center (ADSIC), is an interactive channel and a step forward to effectively engage the public and enhance their collaboration with government entities, to ensure the progress and prosperity of the Abu Dhabi Emirate in all sectors and fields.
“The application aims to achieve several goals, namely supporting the efforts made by Abu Dhabi government to become one of the best governments globally; utilizing the emirate’s advanced technological infrastructure to integrate new applications that would enable Abu Dhabi to achieve its goals and aspirations; and supporting the coordinated efforts made by the various government entities to achieve Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030. “The application confers a new and sophisticated dimension to the security concept, to engage citizens in the efforts to improve security and general safety in the emirate. Moreover, in so far as the emirate of Abu Dhabi has become a major destination for tourists, businessmen and investors, gives reasonable grounds for similar initiatives, which enhance the quality of government services provided across the emirate,” Colonel Al Dhaheri explained.
The application basically depends on the public’s cooperation. Users of this application may take a photo, or record a video or an audio clip to document a case via their smartphone. The app also has a built-in interactive map to pinpoint the location of the users and reported incident; and will automatically create a case for the incident with the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre, which will promptly assign the case to the appropriate Government Entity for resolution. From “Open” to “Closed”, residents can follow their case by using the CityGuard mobile application, going online to http://www.abudhabi.ae, or directly contacting the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre (800 555).
