At the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ (SPE) Heavy Oil Conferencein Kuwait, John O’Donnell will join international oil producers on the panel Heavy Oil: Challenges, Learnings and Opportunities. Solar steam generation offers reduced production costs and expanded ultimate recovery for thermal recovery projects in sunny areas. Highlighted in a previous SPE paper (1295225), research shows that between 50% and 80% of annual steam needs can be provided by solar steam generators, rather than burning natural gas.

By deploying GlassPoint’s solar EOR solution, oil producers can release significant supplies of natural gas to be applied to more valuable applications, such as desalination, industrial development and export as LNG.
