Minister of Superior Education of Morocco Endorses New Westminster Medical College

 The Office of the President of New Westminster College announced recently that His Excellency Lahcen Daoudi, Minister of Superior Education of Morocco, has endorsed the establishment of the New Westminster Medical College in Rabat, Morocco.

The New Westminster College Accreditation Delegation was received by Minister Daoudi in the City of Rabat. The members of the Delegation included General (R) Robert Goodwin III, President of New Westminster College and Chairman of the Board of Governors; Dr. Ahmed S. Badrais, Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors and Chief Financial Officer; Dr. Saâd Zemmouri, Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Governors; and other New Westminster College advisors from Rabat and Casablanca.

The proposal presented to the Ministry of Superior Education to establish the first English-based medical school in Morocco was very well received by Minister Lahcen Daoudi and his staff. “The New Westminster Medical College is an innovative project that will help increase the delivery of the highest standards of modern healthcare and contribute to the promotion of medical tourism for Morocco,” said Minister Daoudi. “I am pleased to announce that the New Westminster Medical College in Rabat will receive the full support of the Government of Morocco and my Ministry.”

The establishment of the New Westminster Medical College in Morocco is part of a larger initiative that will include the establishment of the New Westminster College Hospital also in Rabat that will be a public-private partnership between New Westminster College and the Bouregreg Valley Development Agency in Rabat, with 60 percent of the project being funded by the government agency. “The New Westminster College Hospital will be a significant asset to our strategic development plans to serve our city, country and region,” said Dr. Lemghari Essakl, Managing Director of the Bouregreg Valley Development Agency. “We are pleased to partner with the distinguished leaders affiliated with New Westminster College and have full faith in them as our joint venture partners for this ambitious development project.”
