Lecture at the Police College on Humanitarian and Benevolent Work during Ramadan

The Police College organized a religious lecture on humanitarian and benevolent work during Ramadan, which was delivered by Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim El Hefnawi, Professor and Head of the Jurisprudence Department at the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the University of Tanta; he is one of the guests of the President of the UAE. The lecture was held at the Police College Mosque.

El Hefnawi stressed the importance of humanitarian work, good deeds and charity during this holy month; he recited verses from the Quran and the Prophet's sayings (Ahadith) emphasizing the importance of charity.

Moreover, he noted that Muslims must support their fellow Muslim brothers, inspect their situation and needs. “Fulfilling the needs of people reduces the evils that may surround you, and relieves the plight of distress on the day of resurrection,” pointed out El Hefnawi.

He stressed the importance of work, whether by collaborating with feeding programs, providing clothes, sponsoring an orphan, or participating in a charity project; for Allah rewards good deeds. He ended his lecture by a story narrated in Sahih Muslim by Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him: the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said: “Whoever relieves the suffering of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his suffering on the day of resurrection, whoever helps his brother in this world, Allah will help him in the world and the hereafter, whoever comforts a fellow Muslim, Allah will comfort him in the world and the hereafter, Allah helps whoever helps his brother, whoever seeks knowledge Allah will lead him to paradise, People who gather in one of Allah’s houses, reciting and studying the Quran, peace and mercy will be with them, the angels will surround them and they will be named people of God”.

Dr. El Hefnawi thanked the Police College Department for the effort they exert to graduate police officers able to maintain the security of the UAE and reassuring all residents of this nation, calling God to perpetuate the security and safety.

On the same note, Colonel Saif Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Acting Director General of the Police College, met in his office Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim El Hefnawi, Professor and Head of the Jurisprudence Department at the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the University of Tanta. The meeting was attended by Mohammed Butti Al Shamsi, Head of the Relations and Direction Department; Major Rashid Al Ebil, Acting Director of the Education Director; as well as a number of officers. Colonel Al Nuaimi offered to Dr. El Hefnawi the Police College Shield and a commemorative gift.
