Police liaison officers at embassies and consulates in the country were introduced to the fields in which the Ministry of Interior cooperates with external police entities regarding benchmarking. The officers were also briefed on the ministry’s benchmarking objectives.
The Benchmarking Center at the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate General at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior organized the first collaborative meeting for police liaison officers in the country’s embassies and consulates. A number of ambassadors and military attachés attended the meeting, which was held at the Eastern Mangroves Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Lt. Colonel Mubarak Saeed Al Kaleeli, Director of the Benchmarking Center, said: “The center was established to reflect the police commandment’s vision and serve as an important entity providing the Ministry of Interior with international best practices. The center supports the ministry’s endeavor towards excellence.”
He added: “It provides the ministry with international best practices in different police, technical, and management systems, promotes the benchmarking concept and implements it as a major success factor, and facilitates global-scale benchmarking in order to improve performance.”
He also noted that this meeting, which brings together all partners, introduces the goals and fields of cooperation with external police entities that serve the Ministry of Interior. “The center makes great efforts to communicate actively with local, regional and international partners through such collaborative meetings, in order to promote and empower relations in addition to exchanging knowledge and expertise,” he explained.
Malcolm Miller, New Zealand's ambassador to the UAE, expressed his pleasure to attend and participate in the collaborative meeting. He welcomed the distinguished efforts of the Ministry of Interior, which is committed to implementing international best practices within its police and management procedures.
Jean-Paul Tarud, Chile's ambassador to the UAE, said that the meeting provided a great opportunity to meet the participants. He expressed his pleasure to represent Chile, commending the great progress achieved by the Ministry of Interior.
Lt. Colonel Mubarak Al Kaleeli, Director of the center, stressed the importance of communication during the coming meeting as well as the need to implement the recommendations. He distributed memorial shields to the embassy and consulate representatives who participated in the meeting.
