ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, April 5th 2015 [ME NewsWire]Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior (MoI), and HE Robert Kaliňák, Slovakian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, signed today Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) two Memorandums of Understating (MoU). The first MoU was on security cooperation and counter terrorism between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Slovak Republic, and the second was on mutual recognition of driving licenses issued by the two countries.
HH Sheikh Saif stressed the keenness of the UAE’s higher leadership to promote relations with Slovak Republic for the interests of the people in the two countries. HH hailed the close relations between the UAE and Slovak Republic and the support this relation receives from the leadership of both the countries, along with the keenness to develop and enhance this relation. HH also praised the level of cooperation between the two friendly states in all fields of mutual interests, especially in fields related to police and security work.
The first MoU states the cooperation in all counter crime fields including countering terrorism crimes, organized crime, drugs, money laundry and forgery crimes. It also stipulates cooperation in fields of training; exchange of information, expertise and best practices; and civil defense, along with organizing mutual meetings and consultations with the aim to implement and activate the terms of the MoU.
The second MoU states the mutual recognition of driving licenses issued by the two countries. Under this MoU; citizens from both the countries will be able to replace their driving licenses in the other country, and they will be exempted from taking the theoretical and practical driving tests conducted by authorities in the two countries. The MoU also mentions the procedures and conditions for such replacement, the general rules to be followed, the licenses’ categories included within this recognition, the dates of entry into force, amendments and termination.
Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has met, at his office in the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, HE Robert Kaliňák, Slovakian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. During the meeting, both sides discussed topics of mutual interest.
HE the Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and the accompanying delegation visited the Civil Defense Academy in Abu Dhabi. During the visit, they reviewed the tasks of the Academy and its efforts in providing advanced training activities. At the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, the visiting delegation reviewed the police strategies and was also introduced to the tasks of the Regional Secretariat of the Centers of Excellence. The delegation also visited the Geographical Information System (GIS) Center for Security and was introduced to geographic surveillance patrols; patrols’ deployment model; joint operations; the objectives of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC); civil defense smart stations project; and the smart surveillance, command and control system. The delegation also reviewed the tasks of fog towers, child safety in school transportation, the applications of eye scan project, electronic exits, and the information security system. The visiting delegation was also introduced to the tasks of Emirates Search and Rescue Team, the Security Inspection Department (K9) and the Weapons and Explosives Department. The delegation also reviewed the security support patrol and its equipment, smart patrol, mobile operation room, and ambulances of the National Ambulance.
Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shimmari, Senior Information Security Officer, Project Manager of the Hemayati smart child protection system introduced the visiting minister and the accompanying delegation to the new version of the MoI’s Hemayati application and its new features. These features include the improvements of the user interface and interaction methods to enable family members to locate each other on the map, send notifications about their whereabouts to all family members, communicate with family members, and record their whereabouts. The system also records the locations that users visit frequently during the week with date and time of arrival and departure. The system also enables users to add their family members on their watch list and check their information such as their names, phone numbers, emails, and route. The system also enables the feature of activating SOS call when the children sense a danger around them by shaking the device and an alarm will be sent and a video recording will start in case there was a potential criminal or offender. This multimedia will be sent with the geographical location to clarify the situation, help identifying the suspect, and review the previous route. The application also enables users to re-examine previous routes on the map with their corresponding timeframes. The application also features the ability to send an alarm to all users according to their geographical location in order to protect them and help them evacuate in cases of emergency. The Hemayati application also provides guidance and information and is linked to the operation room at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.

General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Dr. Saif Bu Dhufaira Al Ameri, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs; Brigadier Fares Khalifa Al Farsi, Director General of Guards and Special Tasks at Abu Dhabi Police; and Brigadier General Dr. Rashid Sultan Al Khodr, Vice Chairman of the Legal Council at the Ministry of Interior.
