Urges to Continue Upgrading Services

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior headed the Federal Traffic Council meeting held yesterday (Sunday) at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.
The meeting discussed several traffic recommendations aiming to better serve the public, find more ways to lessen the burden off customers of the traffic departments, and review opportunities of upgrading the traffic industry status quo to reach higher levels.
The meeting touched upon other proposals including the control of heavy and construction vehicles timings, and unifying the time intervals that prohibit driving such vehicles on highways, in addition to unifying speed limits on highway and determining speed margins of radars on all routes, along with other proposals that enhance road safety. All discussed issues were aligned with the vision, mission and strategy of the Ministry of Interior in saving lives and properties.
Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed instructed to continue efforts towards unifying traffic procedures and restrictions at the country level, proposing meaningful amendments, setting recommendations according to the convenient modern concepts that will limit road accidents, promote traffic laws, sustain the satisfaction of the public and activate the social responsibility.
Present at the meeting were Lt. General Saif Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Major General Eng. Mohammad Saif Al Zafeen, Director of the Dubai Police Traffic Department and Head of Federal Traffic Council.
The meeting was also attended by Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General, Traffic Coordination Department, Ministry of Interior; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate; and Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of HH the Minister, along with members of the Federal Traffic Council and a number of high ranked officers.
