Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Friday, March 28th 2014 [ME NewsWire]A delegation from the Zayed House for Islamic culture (ZHIC) visited the Knowledge Center at Abu Dhabi Police’s General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development. The delegation was briefed on the center’s different tasks and reviewed the implementation process of best international practices in the various areas of work.
Major Dr. Saif Salem Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of the Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, held a meeting with the delegation, headed by Ahmed Ismail Al Kamali, Chairman of the Knowledge Management Committee at Zayed House for Islamic culture (ZHIC). He stressed the mutual keenness of local institutions and departments to exchange knowledge and enhance partnerships with a view to achieve the vision and aspirations of the Abu Dhabi Government.
For his part, Major Khaled Hussein Al Khoury, Director of the Knowledge Center at the General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development, showcased the change and development process that has been achieved since 2003, with the launch of the first strategy and subsequent developments. He also highlighted the organizational structure of Abu Dhabi Police, the General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development and their different tasks and duties, as well as the work teams' efforts in implementing international standards of quality to enhance the general performance.
Major Al Khoury also briefed the ZHIC delegation on the work mechanisms adopted by the police leadership in the field of knowledge management and methodology, which are designed to regulate and manage knowledge in Abu Dhabi Police, and ensure that it is properly used to develop and improve institutional performance.
Major Abdullah Al Ameri, Chief of Administrative Operations Section at the General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development, provided an overview of the administrative operations; the means to identify and design operations that are directly related to knowledge; the means to document required work-related evidence needed to carry out these operations, as well as all key operations. He also highlighted the proper ways to determine responsibility in these operations; to identify inputs and outputs; measure outputs; as well as the need to evaluate, audit and review operations regularly.
Head of the delegation thanked the work team for their warm reception and good hospitality, noting that this visit is the first step towards enhancing partnership with Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and the Zayed House for Islamic Culture (ZHIC). He praised Abu Dhabi Police's role and efforts in promoting security and safety in the country, and wished Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters more prosperity and success.
