Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, April 25th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
The renowned Saudi drift driver Hatim Natto, the driver of “Mountain Dew Saudi Gear Racing Team”, showed his true mettle till the end of the heat as he snapped up the first notch in the 5th round of UAE Drift Championship. The round was held alongside The Chase Festival at Dubai Autodrome circuit in UAE. The win elevated him to third in the overall standing of the Championship.
In a breathtaking sport night, the other two Saudi contenders, Abdulhadi Qahtani and Muath Alissa, also thrilled the spectators by demonstrating remarkable competitive spirit and performance.
More than 18 drivers from the Gulf states, including UAE professional drivers, participated in the beginning of the fifth round, till the number was scaled down to eight in the process of elimination, then finally to four drivers with the Saudi team at the fore.
Nitto is the youngest driver in the competition, and one of the first participants in the regional professional drift championships.
He expressed his pleasure for the feat and praised the strong competitive spirit of his rivals in general, and Ford racing team in particular. "Competing with the Saudi Ford Racing Team in this round added wonder and excitement to Saudi colors in the race. After all, we have presented a strong performance which resulted in great encouragement and cheers."
Commenting on the results, Mohammed Ibrahim Alsofiani, Team Manager, extolled the performance of Hatim and the other team members, and said: "The result was expected in view of the positive results achieved in the previous rounds and championships. This season is much stronger than the previous ones. Today, Nitto has matured and more professional in his communications and harmony with the team management and members, and this is the secret of our success in Dubai."
After the grueling fifth lap, the Saudi team is all set for the penultimate action-packed event which will be held this week-end at Reem International Circuit in Riyadh, alongside the Saudi Racing Festival with Actionha.
He added: "We are a team of (one body with one harmonious mind), and will not be able to succeed without this professional level of harmony. Score of this round was very important for us to maintain our leading position among the 3G in the Championship. Indeed, Hatim's and Saudi Ford Racing Team performance was legendary, the public cheers did not stop the race for long and I heard a spectator singing the Saudi national anthem during the coronation moment."
Natto said, “We have made lots of efforts and time to overcome problems – both psychologically and technically – and then the target became more obvious. Indeed, without the keen management of Alsofiani and his perfect plans, we would not be able to reach this level. The racer needs a healthy working environment to offer his utmost efforts and succeed."
