MOI: Our vision is to make the UAE the safest country in the world

Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhraibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, confirmed that the strategic approach undertaken by the Ministry of Interior embodies its diligent vision for the UAE to become one of the  safest and most secure countries in the world. “It also reflects the MOI’s mission that focuses on efficient work in order to enhance quality of life across the UAE society, by providing a set of advanced services,” he noted.

Adding further, Major General Al Nuaimi said: “As a part of its mission, the Ministry endeavors to uphold the noble values of justice, teamwork, good conduct, honesty, integrity, loyalty and social responsibility, in addition to protecting lives and property.” He also reiterated the commitment of His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to promote strategic development to keep pace with global developments, in line with the Federal Government's strategies.

These remarks were made by HE Major General Al Nuaimi during the workshop recently organized by the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Ministry of Interior’s Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development. The workshop, which was held at the Decision-Making Support Center at Police departments complex, tackled (the Ministry of Interior’s approach to support preparations for the Strategic Plan 2017-2021), to lay out the ministry’s vision, mission, values ​​and goals for the upcoming  plan.

For his part, Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, underlined the instrumental role of the Ministry of Interior’s staff members in the strategic modernization process 2017-2021 and the government’s approach to transfer knowledge from top level officials to field staff, and the success of the strategic plan, by transforming this approach into a set of programs, initiatives, processes and innovative and creative services that add value to the internal and external customers.

During the workshop, Lieutenant Colonel Abdulrahman Ali Al Mansouri, Head of the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the ministry, explained the modern strategic approach 2017-2021. He stressed the need to support and assist the federal and governmental entities in the preparations for the fourth Strategic Plan 2017-2021. This includes creating future scenarios; emphasizing the importance of continuous training to ensure accurate and scientific reading of variables; designing integrated systems necessary for forward thing; analyzing the internal and external environment and continuous variables and resolving strategic issues in creative and innovative ways.

Lt. Colonel Al Mansouri emphasized the ministry’s commitment to support police entities and sectors that are taking part in the formulation of future plans, through brainstorming and planning future visions, transforming innovative ideas into realistic action plans, and investing such plans in government work to boost efficiency and upgrade performance levels. This would provide citizens with the best government services, which contribute to enhance the quality of life and the quality of services, in line with the objectives of the UAE Vision 2021.

It is worth mentioning that the workshop targeted strategic coordinators from all sectors: Police, Civil Defense, Naturalization, Residency, Ports and general directorates at the Ministry of Interior’s level.
