Musaffah Community Police Interacts with Citizens

A delegation from the Community Police Branch at the Musaffah Police Station, affiliated to the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, visited the Ramadan Council organized by citizen Salem Abdullah Al Amiri.

Major Sultan Al Raissi, Director of the Musaffah Police Station and Head of the Delegation, assured that the initiative to visit Citizens’ Ramadan Councils is one of the programs carried out during the Holy Month, as per the strategy of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, represented by the Peripheral Areas Police Directorate, and in cooperation with the Community Police.  This approach aims to enhance relations between the Police bodies and community members, and to improve public satisfaction.

In his turn, Major Hamad Rakan Al Rashidi from the Community Police Affairs Section stressed that this initiative is an approach aimed at meeting citizens in their councils, with a view to strengthen the spirit of communication and amity  during  the Holy Month.  It also aims to identify citizens’ needs, and the key problems they face; as well as acquaint them with the negative societal phenomena and means to combat them through concerted efforts.  Moreover, he emphasized that maintaining society’s security is a societal responsibility that is not limited to Police members:  “Preserving security in our society is a mutual responsibility that involves both Police agencies and community members, citizens and residents alike,” he continued.

In his welcoming address, Citizen Salem Ben Zioura Al Amiri thanked the Community Police delegation for attending his Ramadan Council in Musaffah. Moreover, he praised this initiative, noting that Abu Dhabi Police has been particularly proactive in undertaking social initiatives aimed at strengthening communication between Police and community members.  He also lauded the Community Police’s keenness to inquire about community members’ conditions, fulfill their needs, and provide the proper environment for a decent life.

The Council tackled the importance of social partnerships and their role in enhancing the relation between Police and community members. Present at the council, along with the Community Police delegation, Matar Ali Ossian Al Mansouri, UAE embassy Chargé d’Affaires in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who praised the efforts of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and its achievements to bring security and safety to the Emirati society. Al Mansouri explained that by attending citizens’ Ramadan Councils, the Community Police delegation contributes to promote the concept of Community Police.

As part of the Council’s discussions, Al Mansouri also tackled 2 key issues related to expatriate communities residing in the UAE and multiculturalism, and their effects on society; as well as the issue of absconding foreign domestic workers and their negative behaviors with children. The council also discussed a number of negative phenomena such as beggary, and fireworks, which become more common during holidays.  Participants praised the Community Police’s role in enhancing communication with the different segments of society.

Present at the Ramadan Council were Major Sultan Al Raisi, Director of the Musaffah Police Station; Major Hamad Rakan AL Rashidi from the Community Police Affairs Section, at the Peripheral Areas Police Directorate; Captain Said Salem, Guards and Discipline Branch Manager; Lieutenant Mohammed Saeed Al Amiri, Community Police Branch Manager; and Lieutenant Fayssal Saad; along with a number of Community Police staff members and a crowd of citizens.

It is noteworthy that this initiative embodies the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s strategy, to strengthen strategic partnerships between Abu Dhabi Police and all partners, governmental parties, and individuals alike. It also comes in line with the Ramadan Councils’ initiative, carried out by the Community Police branches at all the Comprehensive Police Stations affiliated to the Peripheral Areas Police Directorate of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ,  during the Holly Month.
