Visit Schedules Defined for Inmates of Punitive Reformatory Establishments during Eid El Fitr

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, August 6th 2013

The Punitive & Correctional Institutions Department at Abu Dhabi Police determined the visiting hours for inmates in its Al Wathba, Razeen, and Al Ain sections, as well as in Al Mafraq Juveniles Care Center during the Eid Al Fitr holidays.

Colonel Mohammed Saif Matar Al Zaabi, Head of the Punitive Reformatory Establishments, extended his congratulations to the Higher Leadership and to the people of the UAE on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, praying to Allah to bestow his blessings to all the people of the UAE.

Al Zaabi explained that on Thursday, the first day of Eid, visiting hours for inmates of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments in Al Watba and Al Ain sections will be specified for female visitors. Friday, the second day of Eid, will be dedicated for foreign male visitors, while Saturday, the third day of Eid, will be specified for Arab men. Visiting hours during the Eid Al Fitr holidays will be as following: morning between 8 am and 12 pm, and evening between 2 pm and 5 pm.

He also mentioned that visiting hours  during the Eid Al Fitr holidays  at the Al Razeen  between 8 am and 1 pm, noting that visitors are required to bring their IDs, and that  each inmate is allowed five visitors, including children.

Al Zaabi pointed out that visiting hours for the Juveniles Care Center were defined as follows:  Thursday is dedicated for women, Friday for foreign men, and Saturday for Arab men, between 8 am and 1 pm, and between 2 pm and 5 pm throughout the Eid Al Fitr holidays.

Colonel Mohammed Saif Matar Al Zaabi stressed the Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to allow inmates of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments to communicate with their families and relatives in convenient times for both sides, to achieve the coveted goals.

Furthermore, he underscored the keenness of the Department to provide the appropriate atmosphere during the Eid Al Fitr holidays  for inmates and visitors, as part of the “Your safety” initiative launched by Abu Dhabi Police, noting that visitors will be transferred from the gate to the visiting area in eco-friendly electric powered cars.
