Ministry of Interior Detains 3,371 Violators of the Residence Law During Ramadan

The Ministry of Interior apprehended 3,371 violators, including 21 beggars, of the Entry and Residence of Foreigners Law during the holy month of Ramadan. These seizures were made following the raids carried out by the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Department across the State level.
The Ministry of Interior called upon the public to contribute to the capture of violators by calling the Sahim service on the toll-free number: 80080.
The Abu Dhabi Residency Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Department conducted search campaigns and raids in various locations. The crackdowns yielded the arrest of 824 violators in Abu Dhabi and 105 violators in Al Ain; all of whom have been referred to the relevant authorities where they will await legal proceedings.
The Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Residency Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Department in Dubai, conducted a search campaign that resulted in the arrest of 539 violators; they have also been referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in order for legal action to ensue against them.
Furthermore, the Residency Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Department in Sharjah and Ajman conducted several search campaigns and raids during the holy month of Ramadan. The efforts yielded in the arrest of 554 and 437 violators respectively.
In parallel, the Residency Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Department in Umm Al Quwain conducted search campaigns that resulted in the arrest of 123 violators during the holy month of Ramadan.
The department in Ras Al Khaimah conducted a search campaign during the holy month of Ramadan in which 326 violators were arrested.
Fujairah also conducted a search campaign during Ramadan, which resulted in the capture of 67 violators of the Law of Entry and Residence of Foreigners. All of these violators were referred to the relevant authorities.
Colonel Ali Ibrahim Al Tunaiji, Head of Violators and Foreigners Affairs Department, stressed that these campaigns are a part of the efforts of the department and other state level divisions to curtail the prevalence of intruders and violators of the Law of Entry and Residence of Foreigners.
He added that the campaigns currently implemented are ongoing and will be intensified in different regions and districts across the State level. Moreover, he lauded the significant efforts exerted by the staff members of the Residency Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Divisions to implement these campaigns, as well as the collaboration of the concerned teams, which ensure the success of these crackdowns and achieve their goals.
Colonel Al Tunaiji also praised the cooperation, coordination and support provided by the State’s Police GHQ to the Residency Violators and Follow-up Department and its affiliated divisions, which has had a significant impact on the success of the search campaigns.
He called on all members of society to report such violations by calling the Sahim service toll free number: 80080. He also advised against harboring offenders and providing work for them. Moreover, he warned those who bring in violators and provide accommodation to them against doing so. Colonel Al Tunaiji reiterated that violators pose a threat to the security and safety of the community and noted that legal action will be carried out against violators and those who provide them safe harbor.
