Abu Dhabi Police is providing diamond sponsorship to The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2014 and World Jiu-Jitsu Children’s Cup as a support to this big sporting event and an encouragement to the UAE’s Jiu-Jitsu team.
Held in Abu Dhabi; the championship gathers 1800 players representing 50 countries from around the world, to compete for the valuable prizes of the championship from the 15th until the 19th of April.
Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, expressed his pride of the UAE’s Jiu-Jitsu team that aims to make achievements worthy of the ones accomplished in previous international championships. He affirmed the police leadership support for the championship which reflects the civilized side of the country’s achievements in the sports field.
He said that the participation of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters as a diamond sponsor in this championship comes as an embodiment of the government’s strategy in enforcing the communication and collaboration between all of the community’s associations and foundations that care for youth and their concerns, and reach the youth of the country wherever they are.
He stressed on the deep belief of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarter in the importance of sports and the positive effect it has on the psychological, health, and physical aspects of police staff. He added that despite being a new sport, Jiu-Jitsu is one of the sports that the UAE depend on to put the country’s name on the world’s map of achievements. It witnessed a quantum leap despite being new, thanks to the big support, interest and care given by General His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, hailed the support of Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to sports and youth. He pointed the motivation and encouragement His Highness offers to the Ministry’s staff to join sporting activities as sports’ ethics and the civilized spirit they include must spread amongst the youth of different walks of life. This aims to reflect the positive impact sports have on the youth’s daily behavior.
He also mentioned that Abu Dhabi Police will be participating in the exhibition accompanying the international championship. The exhibition will be held at the highly advanced new facility in Zayed Sports City, and the Information Technology Department will present a briefing about the Abu Dhabi Police smartphones applications.
The Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Center will present an introduction of “Himayati” application, which was launched recently as a response to the parents’ request to know the places their children go to. The application is an embodiment to the keenness of the ministry through its initiatives to provide the necessary protection for the children from all kinds of danger, especially in the virtual world on the internet, and to give the parents a chance to communicate via the application around the clock. The center will explain the voting mechanism for the list of finalist nominees for the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) Awards 2014 by introducing its projects on the following link: http://www.moi-cpc.gov.ae.
The visitors will also be introduced to the camel racing electronic game, which is considered a unique teaching and electronic module. It aims to reinforce the national awareness through the cognitive connection to the cultural, hereditary and historical concepts, and camel racing is considered one of the most important pillars of the country’s culture and history. It also helps to spread the educational concepts and healthy nutrition education, and train and develop personal skills and social interaction, behavior and communication skills.
The Falcon bike “Al Saqr” will make a special appearance in the championship. The audience will be introduced to its uniquely designed specifications that are unmatched in the region, in a way that addresses the youth and matches their hobbies. This innovation had a big role in promoting the public’s trust in the police system and reminding the individuals of road safety. The Flacon bike is red in color, coated with a layer of chrome, decorated with the Abu Dhabi Police logo. It also has a siren, plate lights, protective gloves and a first aid kit which is the most important component.
