Abu Dhabi Police Participates in the Exhibition Accompanying the Jiu-Jitsu Championship

The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, the Diamond Sponsor of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2014, is participating in the exhibition that accompanies the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2014 and World Jiu-Jitsu Children’s Cup. The Championship events started today, Tuesday, at the highly advanced new facility in Zayed Sports City. The events highlight the importance of this grand sport event, and encourage the UAE Jiu-Jitsu team.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior stressed the importance of this grand sport and youth occasion that is witnessing the participation of an elite group of the Jiu-Jitsu stars. He also explained that the Abu Dhabi General Headquarters role as the Diamond Sponsor embodies the Government Strategy in fostering communication and establishing partnerships in order to achieve positive interaction with all civil society’s bodies and institutions that take care of the youth and their issues. These bodies create a real window through which the bodies can further reach to the UAE youth and execute its duties towards them by uplifting their cultural level and implanting positive values within their characters.
The Information Technology Department will take part at the Exhibition by presenting a briefing about the Abu Dhabi Police smartphone service applications. The visitors will also be introduced to the camel racing electronic game, which is considered a unique teaching and electronic module. It aims to reinforce the national awareness through the cognitive connection to the cultural, hereditary and historical concepts. Camel racing is considered one of the most important pillars of the country’s culture and history as well. It also helps to spread the educational concepts and healthy nutrition education, and train and develop personal skills and social interaction, behavior and communication skills. Additionally, the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior asserted its commitment to participating in this international sport event through introducing the participants and visitors to the fabulous Falcon bike “Al Saqr.” The bike features uniquely designed specifications that are unmatched in the region, in a way that addresses the youth and matches their hobbies. The Security Media Department explained that innovation had a big role in promoting the public’s trust in the police system and reminding the individuals of road safety.
On the other hand, the Department of Community Police stated that its participation in the Jiu-Jitsu Championship’s accompanying the exhibition reflects the efforts of strengthening communication with the various community sectors in general and athletes in particular to introduce its goals and role.
“Our partnership with the Jiu-Jitsu federation is a key progress of achieving the Abu Dhabi Police Strategy that aims to invest in the UAE youth,” Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of Department of Community Police at Abu Dhabi Police said. “Following the directions of its leadership, the Abu Dhabi Police is committed to fostering partnership between community and police in all events including sports social or cultural.” Lt. Colonel Muhairom added. He also praised the unique evolution that the Jiu-Jitsu has witnessed both locally and internationally and noted that this sport is able to enhance the overall level of the UAE youth.
Additionally, The Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Center will present an introduction of “Hemayati” application. Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shimmari, Director of the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Center explained that the participation falls within the framework of the awareness campaign entitled “Together to Prevent Child Abuse and Negligence” that the center recently launched. The overall aim of the campaign is to shed light on the various aspects of child abuse and the preventive methods. It also aims to promote social awareness about the importance of reporting any abuse that a child is subjected to. Such reports help in avoiding committing such abuses again and guarantees legal and psychological support for the family and children in general.
“This participation specifically focuses on enhancing the Center’s commitment to Child Protection Principles in sports fields, and ensuring the children security and safety while practicing sports.” added Lieutenant Colonel Al Shimmari. He also noted that the Center believes in sports importance and its powerful effects on the child growth and development.
Furthermore, Lieutenant Colonel Al Shimmari noted that the “Hemayati” application was recently launched by the Ministry of Interior following the instructions of the higher leadership to enable parents and families in general to keep track of their children’s whereabouts. The free application allows parents to communicate with their children at all times, in addition to providing a built-in SOS feature, enabling children to send distress calls to their parents when they feel threatened. It can only be activated by parents in order to determine their children’s whereabouts should they go missing.
The Ministry of Interior has launched the “Hemayati” application for free on the Apple Store for IOS systems following the center’s previous success in launching the application on Google Play for Smartphones operating via Android System. It also crowns the Ministry of Interior's efforts of developing smart interactive services via mobile phones.
