MoI Discusses Plans to Draft Police College Strategy

The Ministry of Interior discussed plans to draft the Police College's strategy during a recent specialized workshop that was held at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The workshop was attended by the Strategic Planning and Development Sections at the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate General and Police College, in addition to representatives of the Police College’s administrative board.

In his opening speech, Colonel Saif Ali Al Kutbi, Police College Director, said that the distinguished achievements made by the Police College are the natural result of the Ministry of Interior's strategy and ambitious plans that are in line with the UAE 2021 vision. He also lauded the Police College's efforts to enhance the quality of the provided services

Colonel Al Kutbi urged participants in the workshop to work as one team in order to establish a strategy for the Police College, to be aligned with the Ministry of Interior's strategic plan. He thanked the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate General at the Ministry of Interior, for contributing their efforts to organize this workshop.

Major Jamal Salem Al Khatiri, Chief of Planning and Strategic Development Section, chaired the workshop, and gave a briefing about the Ministry of Interior's updated strategy (2014-2016), its mission, coveted values, and strategic goals. He also tackled the most important issues that need to be highlighted and addressed while developing any strategic plan, as well as the best way to invest of human resources.

Captain Abeer Ahmed Al Afifi, Strategic Development Branch Manager at the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the ministry, gave an overview of  the strategic planning mechanism and its different stages, from the environmental analysis of internal and external factors,  all the way to identifying challenges and available opportunities, improvement opportunities, points of strengths, and  establishing  a list of the most important strategic cases that help in creating initiatives that are in line with the Ministry of Interior's strategic approach (2014-2016).

Captain Yusuf Abdullah Al Tunaiji, Chief of the Strategic Planning Section at the Police College, explained that the Police College is a key department at the ministry. He praised the ministry’s efforts to educate the College’s employees and acquaint them with principles, values and methodologies required establish strategic plans, through conferences and seminars, in addition to the distribution of scientific material and brochures that promote the college employees’ education.
