Saif bin Zayed Views the MoI’s Certificate of Membership at the International Test Commission

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, May 21st 2014 [ME NewsWire]

Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior was recently presented with the certificate of membership acquired by the Creativity and Leadership Development Center at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior at the International Test Commission (ITC). The center is the first government entity in the Middle East to join the commission, which is an “Association of national psychological associations, test commissions and other organizations”.

In a meeting held in his office, H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed was also briefed about the center’s results in terms of performance, programs and projects that help achieve the strategic goals of the MoI by advancing police work. The presentation was made by Lt. Colonel Saif Hamid Al Dir’e, Director of the Creativity and Leadership Development Center; and Major Dr. Omar Ibrahim Al Ali, Chief of Competency Assessment Section at the center.

This meeting was attended by Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director - General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Colonel Faisal Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters; and Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of HH the Minister.

Commenting on the issue, Lt. Colonel Al Dir’e said: “The certificate of membership obtained by the Creativity and Leadership Development Center at the International Test Commission marks yet another international achievement made by the MoI and supports its initiatives and strategies, aimed at achieving its vision, to ‘make the UAE one of the best countries in the world, in terms of safety and security’.”

Lt. Colonel Al Dir’e also added that joining ITC requires affiliate members to meet a set of international standards, such as the availability of accredited resident psychology assessors; psychological tests and standards that have been modeled according to the local population; and specific clear goals and procedures for testing. Additionally, the standards require compliance with the basic rules of psychology and the related ethics charter related to psychological testing, according to a reliable, objective, and efficient methodology.

In conclusion, Lt. Colonel Al Dir’e said: “By becoming an affiliate member of the International Test Commission, the Creativity and Leadership Development Center becomes the first government entity in the Middle East to obtain this accreditation. All applicants were assessed according to internationally recognized basics and standards in this vital and specialized field of work.”
