Naturalization and Residency Department Launches Initiative to Collect Donations and Clothes for Eid


ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, September 22nd 2014 [ME NewsWire]
The Hawa (Eve) Committee from the Directorate General of Naturalization at the Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Port Affairs, recently launched an initiative to collect donations of sacrifices and clothes for Eid.  The initiative, in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent, will last for one week at the Directorate General of Naturalization and its affiliated departments on a countrywide level.
Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, Head of Naturalization Department, noted that the campaign falls within the context of ensuring the methodology of communication and interaction with partners; the participation in the Red Crescent’s campaign organized under the slogan “Their Joy is our Eid”; as well as the participation of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector in societal events and partnership with societal institutions. He also added that the campaign aims to enhance societal cooperation and collaboration and to bring joy and happiness to the hearts of children in needy families by sharing in the joy of this occasion. He pointed out that the staff members of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector take part in this initiative by donating and offering gifts and clothes. 
For his part, Mohammed Yousef Al Fahim, Deputy Secretary General for Support Services of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, indicated that the initiative aims to provide sacrifices for the needy families in approximately 70 countries, including the UAE. The initiative additionally provides Eid clothes for children to bring joy to their hearts, and contributes to facilitating the pilgrimage for the poor and the elderly. He also pointed out that this humanitarian gesture is a countrywide campaign involving the Directorate General of Naturalization and the UAE Red Crescent.
Mohammed Saeed Al Rumaithi, Manager of the Red Crescent branch in Abu Dhabi, thanked the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector for this good humanitarian initiative which reflects the keenness to extend a helping hand to the needy. Al Rumaithi expressed his hopefulness that this initiative will be a role model for all federal and local ministries and institutions and enhance partnership, cooperation, and coordination with the UAE Red Crescent in order to support its efforts in charitable and humanitarian areas.
It is worth mentioning that the launch of this initiative was attended by: Colonel Khalifa Suhail Al Mazroui, Deputy Head of the Naturalization Department; Captain Nadia Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Hawa (Eve) Committee; and a number of officers at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector and representatives of the UAE Red Crescent.
