Dubai Knowledge Village's 9th Training Open Week Focuses on Empowering Human Capital

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, April 16th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

Next week, Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) will play host to the ninth bi-annual ‘Training Open Week’ – DKV’s premier event dedicated to professional and intellectual development.

From the 21 – 25 April, more than 500 participants will descend on DKV to take part in one of the 51 interactive workshops on offer, spanning HR, marketing, sales, project management, personal development, strategy, leadership and IT.

Expert speakers and trainers, from renowned training and HR institutes will provide an overview of the latest innovative strategies, trends and developments within their relevant industry sectors.

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Managing Director, TECOM Investments’ Education Cluster said:

“Training Open Week provides a fantastic opportunity for people of all backgrounds to further enhance their existing skills or even build their knowledge in an area they are currently unfamiliar with.

“We are firm believers in developing the region’s talent pool, having launched the UAE’s first training and development hub. We’ve seen how investing in your own personal and professional development pays dividends in the longer term. In the year of our 10th anniversary, we remain committed to establishing DKV as a centre of excellence and a one stop shop for knowledge, skills and talent.”

The launch of Training Open Week follows a recent Regional Workforce Planning Study[1], carried out by Dubai International Academic City, which found that 62% of companies across the region rank Dubai’s reputation as a training hub as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’.   Respondents that took part in the survey appeared satisfied with the quality of training on offer; however, it is clear that the cost of training remains a concern for some.  Acknowledging this concern, DKV is charging a flat-rate entrance fee of 200 AED throughout the week which allows participants to have a taste of as many workshops as they wish before committing to a full course.

Underlining the importance of the event, Cristina Burcescu, Executive Advisor, Ellucian said, “DKV’s Training Open Week is a perfect combination of information aimed at broadening the intellectual perspectives of professionals coming from different industries. The personal development and other various industry related workshops have been extremely interesting, maintaining high attention spans of all attendees, from fresh graduates to senior employees and business owners.”

DKV business partners taking part in the event include Specialised Management Group (SMG), ICE, Genesis Institute, Thoughts Training, City & Guilds, ILM, The Change Associates, Abami, ETON Institute and Referral Institute Training.

Training Open Week will be held at DKV’s Conference Centre and is open to anyone looking to develop their skillset and gain a rich professional or personal experience. Bayt.com and SME Advisor are strategic advisors for the event and Thoughts Training and Nescafe are sponsors.
