Marking the “International Paperless Day,” the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ recently organized a campaign titled: “Paperless Day” in collaboration with the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi, which controls the environment, health and safety management system, with a view to enhance environmental safety.
Major-General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director-General of Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police, and Chairman of the Green Applications Higher Committee at the Ministry of Interior, indicated that this campaign enhances the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s commitment to supporting common interest between local institutions and departments and sharing knowledge and strengthening partnerships in order to achieve the Abu Dhabi Government’s vision and aspirations.
He also stressed the Abu Dhabi Police’s dedication to providing its services in a safe and responsible manner towards the environment. It is also committed to ensuring health, safety, and welfare to its employees, customers, partners, clients, and society members who may be affected by its activities that are aimed at continuously improving environmental performance.
Moreover, he noted that the Abu Dhabi Police has reduced paper consumption significantly and has turned its workplaces into environment-friendly ones. He also pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Police undertakes efforts to reduce negative impacts on the environment through the scope of its processes, so as to become a proactive entity in implementing sustainable environmental best practices. It also aims to carry out all operations in a responsible manner coinciding with its vision and abiding by environmental, health, and occupational safety laws.
Notably, 2013 marks the sixth celebration of the “Paperless Day.” According to the statistics of the Environment Agency- Abu Dhabi, the number of participants in 2012 reached 300,000. The agency will launch a new campaign on green offices by the year 2014 to encourage the implementation of more environmentally sustainable practices in companies and governmental agencies across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
