Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, October 30th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
The Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, represented by the Studies and Security Coordination Section (the Internet Branch), launched on Wednesday the “Admiration of a Nation ” competition. This competition is organized to mark the UAE's 42nd National Day celebrations; winners will be announced on December 2.
This initiative underscores the commitment of the Abu Dhabi Police to communicate with all groups, ages and nationalities, through its various websites, namely the Abu Dhabi Police website; the Security Media website, and the social networking sites: Facebook, Twitter and Google.
Fatima Al Shehhi, Internet Branch Manager indicated that the “Homeland Love” Competition reflects the attention and keenness of the Internet Branch to develop social networking sites and promote effective communication mechanisms with the public. Al Shehhi also pointed out that the competition will run until November 28.
“The competition features a cultural questionnaire, designed to assess members of the public’s awareness of issues related to police culture, the law respect culture, and miscellaneous questions about traffic laws and traffic violations. The questions will be presented using a video available on the Security Media Website ‘You are Responsible’,” indicated Al Shehhi.
Daily Points
Al Shehhi noted that the multiple choice questions’ competition requires selecting the correct answer, to score the maximum number of points. More entries earn the participant more points. “Questions target all individuals wishing to participate within the country and abroad, with a view to acquaint users of those websites with the diverse topics of the competition, and provide foreigners with the chance to enrich their knowledge. Social networking sites users can compete with people who achieved advanced positions in the competition, to increase their daily points,” explained Al Shehhi.
Competition Terms of Participation
With regard to terms of participation in the competition, Al Shehhi noted that people who have multiple accounts on Facebook can participate, whereas one account only will be selected to win the prize. “Personal data on Facebook will be stored in the Abu Dhabi Police database, as per its own vision. Ultimately, three winners will be chosen: the first place winner will receive a cash prize of AED 42,000; second and third place winners will get AED 25,000 and AED 15,000 respectively,” stated Al Shehhi; noting that it is strictly forbidden to transfer the prize amount to someone else’s account.
How to Participate:
“As per the competition, five questions will be posted daily for an entire month. Each participant is entitled to five new questions per twenty-four hours, with a possibility to answer at different times of the day. Questions will be posted according to UAE local time for UAE participants, and in sync with GMT time. The time factor is instrumental to earn more points. Each participant gets 10 extra points if he invites a friend to take part in the competition. Daily participation means a greater chance to win,” concluded Al Shehhi.
