Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Friday, March 21st 2014
Abu
Dhabi Police has urged the students of Al Dhabyania Private School,
main branch, to learn the proper road ethics and rules, such as using
the designated pedestrians’ crosswalks while crossing roads, the proper
ways to board and exit the school bus, and to be extremely cautious to
avoid traffic accidents.
In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi
Police’s Traffic and Patrols Directorate and the Emirates Driving
Company, the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Abu Dhabi
Police had recently organized a traffic awareness day for school’s
students as part of the GCC Traffic Week. The awareness program included
two lectures on traffic safety, training on the golden rule for safe
school bus rides, the etiquette of school bus seating, and the need to
develop an appropriate behavior. Moreover, the students were urged to
avoid tampering any bus equipment to not distract the driver.
The
lecturers focused on students’ safety, by highlighting the proper ways
to protect them from traffic accidents, enhancing their traffic
awareness, and urging them to use their seat belts.
During the
events, gifts were distributed to students to encourage them to
participate in traffic events and to enhance their traffic-related
awareness.
