The
Directorate General of Human Resources; the Police Schools Department
and the Human Resources Planning Department have received the ISO 14001
certification for Environment Management System Standards and the OHSAS
18001 for Occupational Health and Safety System Standards. These
certifications are a result of the efforts made by the three entities to
implement the two systems, and through the spreading of an environment
culture and committing to standards of health and safety.
Major
General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human
Resources at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, stressed the
keenness of the police leadership to support the Ministry of Interior’s
quality projects and to provide the best services for its personnel and
for the public. Major General Al Menhali added that the certifications
will contribute to further improving the performance indicators. He
attributed the achievement to the efforts of staff members and their
distinctions in modernizing and developing the work; and additionally
expressed his appreciation of their creative ideas in advancing the work
systems and applications.
Major General Al Menhali
received the certificates in his office at the Directorate General of
Human Resources’ headquarters from Major Dr. Saif Salem Lakhrebani Al
Nuaimi, Deputy Director of the Strategy and Performance Development at
Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, in the presence of Major General Jassem Al
Marzouqui, Deputy Director General of Human Resources, and a number of
heads of departments and chiefs of sections.
Commenting
on the achievement, Major Dr. Al Nuaimi said: “The application of the
Environment Management System and the Occupational Health and Safety
System is in accordance with the requirements of the Government of Abu
Dhabi with respect to the implementation of the environment,
sustainability, occupational health and safety systems, all of which
reflect the police’s sense of responsibility towards environmental
sustainability.”
Adding further, Major Dr. Al Nuaimi
stressed the UAE Government’s commitment to providing high-quality
living for the Emirati society, in pursuance of the Ministry of
Interior’s strategy in providing distinguished services that are in
accordance with international best standards, and in enhancing public
confidence and customer satisfaction with the provided services.
In
conclusion, he noted that the ISO certifications obtained by the
Directorate General of Human Resources represent an achievement in
efficiency, and was carried out according to the quality plan outlined
by the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ). “This achievement
was made possible due to the support of the police leadership, the
efforts of the quality teams, and the dedication of all staff members,”
he concluded.
