Saif bin Zayed Grants the Employment Excellence Medal to an Abu Dhabi Police Officer


His Highness Viewed the Certificate of the First Arab Arbitrator for Rescue Teams’ Rating

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, granted the Employment Excellence Medal to Lt. Colonel Mohammed Al Ansari of Abu Dhabi Police. His Highness also viewed the international certificate that the officer has acquired as the first Arab arbitrator for accrediting and rating search and rescue teams by the United Nations’ International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG).

His Highness honored Lt. Colonel Al Ansari, Head of the UAE Search and Rescue Team, Field Liaison Officer between the UAE Ministry of Interior and the UN, Vice President of the United Nations’ International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG), by granting him the Employment Excellence Medal. This came as an appreciation for his sincere efforts, and for showing high skills and efficiency in order to elevate his work, and to urge him to double his efforts in order to achieve a more developed and improved performance.

His Highness also viewed the international certificate that Lt. Colonel Al Ansari has acquired from INSARAG. His Highness said, “An officer of Abu Dhabi Police acquiring a certificate as the first Arab  for accrediting and rating search and rescue teams is an achievement for the UAE Search and Rescue Team. The UAE team enjoys high levels of performance and professional expertise, thus allowing them to carry out their duties and humanitarian tasks in the fields of search and rescue in an honorable way.”

Lt. Colonel Al Ansari expressed his pride in meeting His Highness and the honor that was bestowed on him with the Employment Excellence Medal. He said that he will continue the excellent work in order to promote the values of teamwork, the quality of planning and efficient performance, and leverage local and international experiences in a way that establishes the culture of excellence in the field of search and rescue.

He pointed out that this received honor would not have been achieved without the direct support and attention of His Highness, the provision of a convenient, excellent, and stimulating work environment, and the support for the work team and all police members. He confirmed that this honoring will double his responsibility in the coming stages in order to maintain the achievements and excellence, to elevate police work to the best levels, and to obtain achievements that embody the strategy of the Ministry of Interior, and increase the trust of the public.

The meeting was attended by Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of HH the Minister, and a number of officers.

The multiple achievements and contributions in the career path of Lt. Colonel Al Ansari are mention worthy, considering that he is one of the founding officers of the ambulance and rescue service in Abu Dhabi Police, and  is the head of the first batch of UAE national rescuers and paramedics for Abu Dhabi Police. He is also the first liaison officer for government sponsored students sent to Germany in the field of paramedics and rescue. He was also chosen as the head of the GCC and Jordan Search and Rescue Teams Development Committee, and as the first and youngest to hold the position of Vice President of INSARAG.

Lt. Colonel Al Ansari earned “Best on-Field officer” title at the Directorate General of Central Operations level in 2014, his operational expertise helped the UAE Search and Rescue Team become internationally recognized as the first team of the “Medium Category” in the Middle East and Africa. Al Ansari also carried out a similar project which helped transform the UAE Search and Rescue Team from the “Medium Category” into the “Heavy Category,” making it the first internationally recognized team to achieve the classification.

The Head of the UAE Search and Rescue Team, Al Ansari, contributed to many search and rescue services development projects at Abu Dhabi Police, including the Bicycle Ambulance Project, which is used in heavily trafficked areas and major events. Al Ansari also contributed to many other projects, during which the Emergency and Public Safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police has been able to achieve the confidence and satisfaction of the public with a ratio of 91.9% in the quality of provided medical services in the search and rescue field.
