Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, stressed that change is the key trigger to ensure development and excellence of strategic plans in a bid to achieve the ultimate goals, notably boosting productivity, improving the level of services, teamwork and prompt delivery.

Adding further, Major General Al Raisi indicated that the higher leadership is keen on developing all government sectors to keep abreast of global developments, in addition to boosting the skills of leaders and executive directors via training courses, workshops and brainstorming sessions. The higher leadership also strives to organize visits and benchmarking exercises for staff members within the UAE and abroad, to gain the skills required to attain the highest levels and to promote performance in an environment conducive to creativity.

For his part, the Adviser Dr. Abdulrahman Al Nahal, from the National Qualifications Authority (NQA) in Dubai, noted that the workshop focused on the scientific aspect. “The workshop tackled the objectives and strategies for change and organizational development in business organizations. It also focused on the Kurt Lewin model of change management through the three stages needed to make change successful: Unfreezing, or preparing for change; Change or Transition process; and Freezing, to establish stability once the changes have been made. It also discussed the Dean Anderson model and his famous quote ‘Leaders must understand management development through the lenses of their mental models’,” he added.

Towards the end of the workshop, certificates of attendance were distributed to participants, along with the book “Leadership Competencies for Successful Change Management”, in the presence of Captain Nasser Abdullah Al Saadi, Training and Development Branch Manager at the Directorate General of Central Operations.
