United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, March 20th 2012 [ME NewsWire]

The UAE Internal Audit Association hosted TheUAE IAA’s Chief Audit Executive Breakfast Meeting for 2012. The meeting was held by the association on the 18th of March in Armani Hotel Dubai, UAE, and the 19th of March in Emirates Palace Hotel Abu Dhabi, UAE

UAE Internal Audit Association discussed the latest trends in Internal Auditing, the importance of internal auditing and to change the perception of the internal audit to others.

Internal auditors play an important role in their organization’s corporate governance, internal control structure, risk management analysis, and financial reporting process. In the past decade, auditors actively have provided management with consulting and assurance services to assist in compliance and regulations, internal audit resources also have been expanded to satisfy the high demand for services to assist in executive certifications of internal controls and financial reports.

In the coming years, internal auditors may be expected to expand their role to assume more responsibilities in improving risk management, reducing organizational complexity and costs, and participating in developing strategic and governance processes.

Auditors may need to express opinions in the areas of corporate governance, risk management, and internal controls.

Mr. Abdulqader Obaid Ali, President of the UAE IAA says “Efficient and effective meetings are essential to the internal audit profession. From client engagement communication to team meetings and professional training, Internal Auditors are constantly challenged. Understanding the best practices in this area will hopefully contribute to all and strengthen the approach.”

UAE Internal Audit Association also talked about their upcoming 13th Annual Regional Audit Conference which will be held in Atlantis Hotel from the 15th to the 18th of April 2012.
