ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, February 26th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Abu Dhabi Police Music Band performed a number of famous national and traditional music pieces at the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2014. The public enjoyed watching the band as they played Emirati heritage folklore pieces, as well as foreign pieces.

Colonel Waleed Salem Al Shamesi, Head of the Police Schools Department at Abu Dhabi Police, noted that the Police Music Band is participating with 60 musicians in this exhibition, for the second consecutive year. “This participation underscores the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police to take part in various community activities, taking into consideration the importance of music in people's lives. It also reasserts its commitment to keep up with national events,” said Colonel Al Shamesi.

For his part, First Lieutenant Ibrahim Ma’touq Al Hosani, Deputy Chief of Police Music Section, stressed that the Police Music Band strives to always be performing at a level suitable for events and occasions. The band prepped for this occasion by choosing Arabic, international and traditional folklore pieces that reflect its technical development level, which has been attained through participating in many local and international festivals. This progress was also achieved thanks to the continuous support of the police leadership that continuously provides the band with state-of-the-art musical instruments, noted First Lieutenant Al Hosani.

It is worth mentioning that 175 companies will be displaying their innovations at this exhibition. There will also be more than 100 aircrafts on display at this event, which is expected to draw more than 17,000 visitors.
