(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Thinklogical, a leading provider of fiber optic KVM switching and extension technologies, today announced it is now shipping the VelocityT-Series, a high reliability, rack space saving KVM extension solution. This new line of products harnesses a unique chassis design that consolidates what is typically housed in a 2U chassis into a scaled down a 1U size, with a dual interface and power supply. The dual interface design provides two separate modules. The first model in this series, the Velocity T-4200, supports two Single-Link DVI displays, as well as, PS2, full duplex stereo audio, and serial (RS-232). Depending on your requirements, model options feature either USB 1.0 HID (only), and/or USB 2.0 (up to 480 Mbps) device ports as well as a variety of video features, such as dual-link, RGB support, dual and single displays. Using multi-mode or single-mode fiber, the system allows users to locate a DVI monitor(s) and peripherals via fiber from just a few meters up to 40 kilometers away from the controlling computer securely without the loss of resolution or performance.

“The VelocityT-Series features Thinklogical’s industry-leading, patent-pending MRTS (Multi Rate Transmission System) technology, which lends itself to outstanding visualization capabilities and is designed to work in the most demanding computing environments,” states Kevin Keefe, Vice President of Research and Development at Thinklogical. “Additionally, users can leverage the seamless integration of Thinklogical’s VX Routers, when combined with the VelocityT-Series, gives customers’ additional topology options in building a high-performance fiber optic extension and switching infrastructure.”

The VelocityT-Series is the only extension product in the marketplace that provides high reliability with all of the essential features and functions necessary in mission critical environments. System architecture provides hot-swappable, current sharing power supply modules, a critical component in high up-time environments which typically are supported by more than one power grid as a failover option. The unique modular design allows the unit to be configured as a transmitter, receiver, or even a transceiver for a variety of applications.

“The high performance visualization computing environment has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years and this has spurred the need for a versatile yet scalable solution. Therefore, we built upon the success of Thinklogical’s cornerstone VelocityKVM line of fiber optic extenders, and made the decision to develop this new revolutionary chassis design,” said, David Cheever, CEO of Thinklogical. “I believe the design and development of the VelocityT-Series demonstrates Thinklogical’s commitment to innovation in this marketplace, as well as its continued support for the successful VelocityKVM line of fiber optic extenders.”

The Thinklogical VelocityT-4200 currently is under evaluation with a number of customers globally and was met with overwhelming interest at this year’s ISE conference at the Amsterdam RAI, February 1st – 3rd.
