Panasonic Presenting the Tablet PC Edition of the World Heritage Calendar App in Conjunction with UNESCO
OSAKA, Japan - Wednesday, December 12th 2012 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Following on from the web edition, the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and Panasonic Corporation (NYSE:PC)(TOKYO:6752) present the tablet PC edition of their calendar in five languages. http://panasonic.net/UNESCO_worldheritage_calendar
By installing the application on your tablet PC, you can view a calendar containing beautiful photographs of world heritage sites whenever you like. The calendar also includes "trivia" about the world heritage sites in English, Japanese, French, Chinese, and Spanish, and the pictures can be presented as a slideshow like an electronic photo frame. The content is aimed towards youth education, with a particular focus on the Associated Schools Network of UNESCO (9,000 schools in 180 countries around the world). We plan to create even more enriching content in the future.
UNESCO and Panasonic have been creating wall calendars since 1995 and a web version since 2010 with the aim of promoting environmental education through the protection of world heritage areas. The web version and the tablet PC version include content that is not available in the printed version, and you can enjoy informative games and other content concerning world heritage sites.
In addition, while the wall calendar has only been available in Japan until now, you can now purchase the A4 size international edition of the calendar from the UNESCO headquarters from December, 2012.
