ADP Finance Department Honors 10 Staff Members for Obtaining Professional Financial Certificates

Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ honored 10 staff members from the Finance and Services Directorate General for obtaining international professional certifications. The certifications include the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting Level 1 and the Certified Financial Consultant (CFC) qualification.

Major General Badran stressed the keenness and the attention dedicated by Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to honor outstanding police officers who play leading roles in the pursuance of the strategic priorities and goals. “This honoring motivates them to improve policing and service work,” he said.

Furthermore, Major General Badran lauded this international academic achievement that embodies the Police Leadership’s goal, aimed at qualifying the human cadre, being a key developmental component to improve performance. Major General Badran also pointed out that scientific development and building competencies and skills are an ongoing process that requires diligent efforts from all the Abu Dhabi Police staff members, so as to hone their skills through education and professional experience.

Concluding, he highlighted the importance of knowledge and keeping abreast of all developments to improve the work mechanism; stressing the need to leverage international experiences to enhance performance and achieve the coveted goals.

For his part, Brigadier Salem Al Shamesi, Deputy Director General of Finance and Services, Supervisor of the event, praised this distinguished international academic achievement. “It promotes and develops the skills of accountants and finance officers across the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s various sections and departments. It also embodies the Police Leadership’s strategy to enhance the scientific and practical attainment of its personnel, to improve their scientific standards so as to keep pace with global developments, and positively impact the work environment”, added Al Shamesi.

It is noteworthy that the Abu Dhabi Police, in coordination with a prominent international specialized company, had implemented this project with a view to enhance its personnel’s financial skills at the leadership level. For this end, it enrolled them in professional specialized courses to develop their skills; provide them with all means of support and assistance; and create the proper environment to raise the efficiency of staff members and improve their careers.

The CIMA Diploma in Performance Management is the first international qualification in Management Accounting developed by the UK-based Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to be offered in Arabic. The  program has been developed for specialists in management accounting, financial managers and accountants; who want to acquire the skills needed for making management decisions, and become certified as specialists by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

The Certified Financial Consultant (CFC) qualification is one of the professional financial certifications issued by the American Institute of Financial Advisers (IFC).

The ceremony was attended by Brigadier Salem Al Shamesi, Deputy Director General of Finance and Services; Colonel Ahmad Saeed Al Badi, Deputy Director of the Financial Affairs Department; and Lt. Sameh Khalaf Al Dhahin; Head of the Payments Section at the Financial Affairs Department. At the end of the ceremony, the sponsor of the event distributed appreciation certificates to the outstanding staff members.
