Civil Defense teams extinguish fire in an under construction building in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, August 14th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

Teams from the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense,  Rapid Intervention, and Emergency and Public Safety Department from t the Directorate General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, managed to extinguish  a fire that broke out at 12:30 pm on Wednesday in an under construction building in the Khaleej Al Arabi street towards Al Maqta area in Abu Dhabi. No injuries were reported.

Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Al Rashedi, Acting Head of Centers Department at the Abu Dhabi Directorate General of Civil Defense, said: “We cleared the roads leading to the scene of the accident to ensure the timely arrival of firefighters.  Ultimately, the fire was contained with high professionalism thanks to the efforts of firefighters’ teams, and investigations are still underway to determine the circumstances of the fire.”

The Traffic patrols, criminal patrols, rescue and ambulance teams, crime scene, air wing and security media patrol took part in supervising the incident.
