Al Gharbiyah Police Team is the Modern Rowing Champion

Western Region Police Directorate Team of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) has been crowned the champion of the Police Championship for Modern Rowing. The team ranked first scoring 28 points. The Information Security Department Team came in second place scoring the same number of points with the Government Institutions Protection Team, which came in the third place with 23 points.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, declared that this championship is a part of the sport activities program organized by General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development. The championship’s aim is to enhance the Abu Dhabi Police officers’ qualifications and fitness and create communication among all members in order to ignite a competitive spirit. The colonel expressed his happiness for the championship’s success and thanked all the entities that participated. He also extended his thanks to the Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club and praised the club members’ efforts for their endeavors in hosting the championship and contributing to its success.
The Police Championship for Modern Rowing was organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Section within the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club. The championship, which took place on Wednesday, was held with the participation of 12 directorates representing the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ). It comprised of races for individuals and pairs. The results were as follows: Mohammed Rashid Al Farisi from Capital Police Directorate ranked first; Nahyan Al Hammadi from the Western Region - Al Gharbiyah Police Directorate ranked second; and Sultan Rashid Al Farsi from the Department of the Government and Diplomatic Premises came in the third place.
In the race for pairs: Aziz Ahmed and Omar Al Hammadi from the Western Region Police Directorate ranked first; Ali Al Sayyed Hashimi and Khalifa Al Moutawaa from the Information Security Department Team ranked second; and Talal Al Matroushi and Talal Al Zouabi from the Department of Government and Diplomatic Premises ranked third.
At the conclusion of the championship, Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Criminal Evidence Department; Ibrahim Al Matroushi from the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Abu Dhabi Police; Said Humaid Al Muhairi, Deputy Director of Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club; and First Lieutenant Jamal Al Saadi, Director of Sports Teams and Competitions of the Sports Section honored the jury and distributed trophies and medallions to the winners.
