Saif bin Zayed inaugurates new Khalidiya Police Station

HH gave instructions to provide best services and communicate with the public

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, September 1st 2013

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, recently inaugurated the new Khalidiya Police Station in the Al Manaseer area in Abu Dhabi.

The new police station reflects the strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and its vision to guarantee the continuation of Abu Dhabi as a secure and safe society by providing high quality police services to citizens, residents and visitors of the Emirate.

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan toured the new police station and was briefed on its layout and facilities. He was accompanied by Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services; Brigadier Omeir Al Muhairi, Deputy Director General of Police Operations; Brigadier Saeed Saif Al Nuaimi, Procurement and Warehouse Department Director; Colonel Dr. Engineer Saif Hamdan Al Kaabi, Director of Engineering Project Department, the Directorate General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Rashid Mubarak Al Mesmari, Deputy Director of the Capital Police Directorate; Lt. Colonel Muslim Mohammed Al Ameri, Head of the Khalidiya Police Station at the Capital Police Directorate; and a number of officers.

HH also reviewed its work processes at the departments and sections. He was briefed on the services provided by the police station within its jurisdiction, as well as the instructional chart, initiatives, current projects, and the current and future challenges it faces.

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan instructed the officers and employees at the police station to communicate with the public, deliver the best services, and communicate with internal and external partners within its jurisdiction to serve the community and enhance security and safety. HH underscored the importance of providing an ideal work environment within the police station, improving  employee capabilities, and developing police work.

Brigadier Omeir Al Muhairi said: “The new police station provides three sets of services. The services included in these sets of services are: receiving complaints (initial applications), filing criminal reports, receiving and delivering recovered items, delivering passports based on court orders, issuing reports related to specific letters, providing safe traffic requirements, responding to emergency calls, carrying out awareness campaigns, paying penalties, organizing traffic, monitoring security within jurisdiction area, issuing security permits to shops regarding longer working hours, increasing patrols in residential and commercial areas and during events, taking part in activities within the jurisdiction area, carrying out campaigns against crimes, providing access to closed residential and commercial spaces, providing advice and guidance, answering enquiries, organizing awareness lectures, providing humanitarian services via patrols, and issuing good conduct certificates in addition to other responsibilities.”

The new police station consists of two buildings: the main building has three floors and stretches over 1,400 square meters, while the second, a seven-floor building, is designated as residences for officers and includes a club and a restaurant. The parking areas for employees and clients can accommodate more than 200 vehicles.

Both buildings follow the latest international standards, enabling employees to provide all services to the public as fast as possible.
