SALZBURG, Austria - Wednesday, October 2nd 2013 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- This fall marks the release of a new feature-length documentary on one of action sports’ most talented, influential and entertaining figures – Shane McConkey. Highly anticipated ever since it premiered to critical acclaim at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival in April, “McConkey” will reach the world via multi-platform digital release on October 8, 2013.
“McConkey” celebrates the life of one of the world’s ultimate innovators: Shane McConkey. Featuring incredible action footage and Shane’s own home videos, as well as heartfelt interviews with those who knew him best, "McConkey" offers an intimate portrait of the athlete’s personal life – an inspiring look at how a man who didn’t fit the mold was able to find success on his own terms, staying true to his dreams and living each day to the fullest. “What’s special about this movie for someone who’s not into action sports at all, is just seeing the love, the affection and the passion for life,” said Norwegian skier and BASE jumper Karina Hollekim. “To find something that makes you happy, something that makes you want to get up every morning and attack life with a huge smile.” All proceeds from the film will go to a trust set up in the family’s name.
The documentary, produced by Red Bull Media House in cooperation with Matchstick Productions, will be released on October 8, 2013. It will be available for digital and rental download through iTunes and other digital retailers including Google Play, XBOX, PlayStation, and Vudu, as well as in a 3-in-1 DVD/Bluray collector’s edition through the film website and in retail stores.
