To mark the UAE’s 42nd National Day, Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police, said in his speech:
On the auspicious occasion of the UAE’s 42nd National Day, we commemorate the historic, glorious and unique declaration of the Union achieved the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, who laid the foundations to a strong country, and unified its people. His unstinting efforts led to the establishment of a modern state, built upon the well-established principles of Islam and the noble Arabic values.
As we celebrate this precious day, we draw inspiration from the life of the founder and builder of the State, whose expertise, insight and abiding faith were instrumental to establish solid foundations for the future; values that we follow to enlighten our way in our quest to attain further progress, elevate the country, and ensure the well-being and dignity of the Emirati people.
The blazing march of progress and development was pursued by their highnesses who followed the legacy of the founding father, builder of the UAE’s renaissance. They endeavored diligently to ensure progress and well-being in the service of the country and its people in all fields. Today and under the wise leadership of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, the UAE is witnessing a development and cultural boom in all aspects of life, and is rapidly progressing to keep pace with the changes taking place in the world.
The development projects and increased growth witnessed by the country in all fields is testament to the efforts exerted since the establishment of the Union. This legacy is pursued by HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his brothers, members of the Supreme Council and rulers of the Emirates, who are diligently working their way into the future, based on an intellectual and practical legacy of perseverance and progress.
National events, particularly our Nation’s unification’s day, are an opportunity to renew our pledge of allegiance to the country, and promote the values of generosity and sacrifice to preserve the country’s gains that were achieved since the Union’s establishment. This would allow the UAE to remain a country of honor and glory, by the grace of Allah Almighty, with the spirit of the Union dwelling deep in the hearts of its people.
