Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, delivered a speech on the occasion of the UAE 42ndNational Day. Following is the text of the speech:
The second of December 1971 is a historic day for the Emirati people. On this day, the Union saw the light, built on solid and well-established principles under the wise leadership of the founding father, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his brothers their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and rulers of the Emirates. The overall development process started in all areas, providing well-being and prosperity to all citizens. Schools, universities, health centers and hospitals were established, the infrastructure and other facilities were built throughout the UAE. The leadership also harnessed all financial resources for the service of citizens, out of its abiding belief that humans are a country’s true wealth.
The Renaissance march keeps moving forward, led by H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who followed steadily in the footsteps of late Sheikh Zayed, with solid determination and wise insight to reach the highest levels of progress and prosperity.
The UAE’s successive generations have been reaping the good fruits of our wise leadership’s policies, under the banner of the glorious Union. Our country has become one of the world's fastest growing countries, with the second largest Arab economy. The UAE residents are among the happiest in the world, and the country has been applauded for its work in narrowing gender gaps and stopping inequality; women of the UAE rank first in educational attainment in the Middle East and North Africa, according to reports by specialized international organizations. All these factors earned the UAE the respect and appreciation of the international community.
We take pride in the great achievements attained during the comprehensive renaissance march in all fields, which positioned the UAE today in a leading stature on the international scene. Nonetheless, the State endeavors with all its capacities to redouble efforts to maintain the advanced level attained in the areas of progress and development in various sectors. The prestigious achievements included police and security work, thanks to the unwavering support from our leadership. This comes in line with the methodology to pursue excellence, maintain the achievements and strategic planning as a tool to further excellence and leadership.
The Ministry of Interior obtained well-deserved international awards, which rewarded its efforts for institutional development and excellence. Moreover, it implemented several initiatives and projects to protect children from all potential dangers, following the instructions of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and his commitment to see the UAE become a beacon of civilization and a role model in the region in all areas of child protection and security, through precautionary measures that promote security and safety of our communities.
Finally, we promise our leadership to further endeavor to achieve the coveted objectives of progress and development; particularly in the areas of police and security work. We pray Allah Almighty to safeguard our country and its higher leadership and grant them success in their efforts to further advance our nation. We also pray Allah Almighty to bestow wellness and heath on their Highnesses, the President of the UAE, his Deputy and their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and to assist them in their quest to elevate our country. May god bless you and bless our country with further security, progress and prosperity.
