MoI Celebrates UAE 42nd National Day

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior attended the Ministry of Interior’s celebration marking the UAE 42ndNational Day. The ceremony, organized by the Public Relations Department, was held in the Auditorium at the ministry’s Headquarters.

Attending the ceremony were Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Resources and Support Services; Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Hiri Salim Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; and Major General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Civil Defense Acting General Commander-in-chief. Also attending were Directors General; department directors; and a large number of officers, non-commissioned officers, constables, civilians, women staff, and staff members from the various departments of the Ministry of Interior, as well as representatives of various institutions, bodies, companies, hotels, and strategic partners of the Ministry of Interior, and a number of members from the UAE National Team.

The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem, followed by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Later on, the audience watched a documentary highlighting the Union’s history and progress. Moreover, Al Ittihad Private School’s students recited the loyalty oath, followed by a poem recited by Lieutenant Rashid Al Shamesi marking this occasion. Concluding, Al Ebtihal Kindergarten students presented a folk dance and a music show, which were highly acclaimed by the attendees.

Lt. General Al Sha’far, accompanied by a number of senior officers, cut the cake prepared on this auspicious occasion.

The ceremony featured several popular game shows, national songs, poems, art shows, contests and prizes. Moreover, a raffle draw was organized with the participation of the UAE National Team members, Al Sameeh and Al Shawamekh schools, and the Abu Dhabi Centre for Care and Rehabilitation for people with special needs.

At the end of the ceremony, participants in the celebrations were honored.

In his statement on the occasion, Lt. General Al Sha’far stressed that celebrating Union Day is a national duty to enhance the sense of affiliation. It is an invitation for future generations to recall the greatness of this nation and the efforts of the renaissance builder and founder, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his late brothers their Highnesses members of Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, who have materialized the idea into one of the most distinguished experiences of the modern era for decades.

“His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his brethren, their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, have proven to be worthy successors to the best predecessor, by pursuing the same path of progress and development. On this glorious occasion, the Emirati people who enjoy prosperity and progress under their rule, cannot but express their commitment and loyalty towards their wise leadership, which further elevated the UAE’s status to world-class levels,” concluded Al Sha’far.

Sharjah Air Wing Department Celebrates National Day

The Sharjah Air Wing Department also celebrated the UAE 42nd National Day. The ceremony was held at the Sharjah Air Wing Section in the presence of HE Hamad Ahmad Al Rahomi, Member of the Federal National Council (FNC); Brigadier Engineer Abdullah Mohammed Abdul Kareem, Chief of the Maintenance Section; Colonel Pilot Abdullah Salem Al Theeb, Chief of the Sharjah Air Wing Section; and a number of officers, non-commissioned officers and constables. The ceremony included an array of events, marked by participation and interaction of the Air Wing Department with citizens, and sharing the joy of this much-celebrated occasion.

The UAE national anthem announced the beginning of the ceremony, which began with the arrival of the Federal National Council Member; followed by verses from the Holy Quran.

Addressing the gathering, Colonel Pilot Abdullah Salem Al Theeb, Chief of Sharjah Air Wing Section lauded the Union’s cherished march and landmark achievements since its establishment. He also highlighted the role the founding fathers in establishing a path-breaking country that has become a role model for many countries. Al Theeb called upon everyone to demonstrate their joy and love for the UAE through hard work, training and qualification to further boost development and prosperity and strengthen the foundations of progress laid down by the founding fathers: “This would advance the construction boom and the epic cultural achievements, to maintain the Union as a symbol of pride for all its citizens,” he continued.

Later on, attendees watched a short documentary film highlighting the history of the Air Wing Department since its inception, its achievements, and the land, air, and sea rescue operations it carries out. The documentary also cast light on the department’s participation in the various shows, celebrations and events taking place in the country.

For his part, Hamad Ahmad Al Rahomi, Federal National Council (FNC) Member delivered a lecture and recited a poem titled “One country, one loyalty”, which reflects the interconnection between the country and the family home. Al Rahomi also expressed the feeling of affiliation and pride with the country’s achievements that dwells deep within the people, and their keenness to adhere to the principles of the Union. Concluding, he answered the questions and queries of the attendees with respect to community members and the Council's role in delivering those queries to the relevant authorities.  

Students from the first cycle of Al Wadi Primary School also took part in the celebration with a national and heritage show (which included the famous “Al Yolah” folk dance); poet Hamad Saif Al Shamesi recited a poem marking the UAE 42nd National Day.

During the ceremony, a number of individuals were honored and presented with certificates of appreciation and commemorative shields. A commemorative shield was also presented by the Chief of the Air Wing Section to His Excellency the Federal National Council Member. Attendees also toured Sheikh Zayed photo gallery at the Sharjah Air Wing Section, as well as the classic cars and aircrafts exhibition, where they were acquainted with the rescue methods and equipment.
