ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, December 18th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
Air Wing Officers rescued six Indian sailors from imminent death, after their ship drifted into the sea, 10 nautical miles off the coast of the Emirate of Sharjah. One of the three sailors was in critical condition, while the health condition of the two others was stable. The ship had set sail from a neighboring state and got into difficulty 10 nautical miles away, west of the entrance of Khor of Sharjah. It was later swept away before sinking at 7 a.m. on Tuesday as a result of rough seas. The medical staff on board the rescue aircraft tended to the six men and provided them with the necessary care during the flight to Al Qassimi hospital for treatment.
