(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jupiter Systems, the industry leader in display wall technology, introduced its new advanced Warp/Blend Node™ to complement Jupiter’s award-winning PixelNet® Distributed Display Wall System.

The Warp/Blend Node allows the use of front or rear projector arrays to create seamless display walls by overlapping the display areas of adjacent projectors. While PixelNet provides the overlapping pixels required at each internal edge, the Warp/Blend Node provides both geometry correction and color blending to make sure the overlapped pixels match up precisely and have the correct color and brightness. The Warp/Blend Node also allows for perfect projection onto curved and irregularly shaped surfaces.

“The Warp/Blend Node is our answer to customers the world over who asked for the benefits of the PixelNet Distributed Display Wall System in front and rear projection walls,” said Brady O. Bruce, Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Alliances at Jupiter Systems. “Now, our customers can build PixelNet based seamless display walls with up to 50 projectors, even on non-planar surfaces, and get the pixel perfect performance for which Jupiter is known.”

The Warp/Blend Node offers the same space-saving size and shape as other PixelNet nodes and extends the functionality, power, and ease of use for which PixelNet has become well known. Its modular nature is the perfect fit for PixelNet installations, allowing users to share the warp and blend features across many projectors in an easily scalable way. The new node opens PixelNet to a variety of new applications including Simulation and Training, command-and-control, boardroom, and digital signage installations.

PixelNet supports multiple display walls in a PixelNet Domain. Both seamless (overlapped) and traditional (edge-butted) display walls can be supported in the same PixelNet domain. For example, a seamless 2 x 1 boardroom projection screen and ancillary LCD screen arrays can be supported in the same PixelNet Domain. It also supports arrays of up to 50 projectors. The Warp/Blend Node is a totally self-contained system, tightly integrated with PixelNet Domain Control (PDC) software, providing intuitive setup and control. The user interface and mapping tools are both intuitive and easy to use, allowing users to align complex multi-channel installations.

Edge Blending

The Warp/Blend Node makes it easy to create seamless images from multiple projectors. The system provides extensive blend capabilities, including gamma fine-tuning and black level offset in non-blend areas. It blends the output of two or more PixelNet TeamMate Output Nodes, both horizontal and vertical arrays and up to 50% overlap in both horizontal and vertical directions (recommended overlap is 10-20%). The new node supports digital (DVI, single link) signal resolutions up to 1920x1080 and pixel rates up to 165 MHz.

Warping & Geometry Correction

The Warp/Blend Node is capable of supporting nearly all surface geometries. It allows users to project onto both planar and non-planar surfaces, and supports off-axis projection with advanced keystone correction. Supported non-planar surfaces include: partial convex, partial concave, partial cylinder, globe, cylinder and arbitrary curved screens.
