(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Praj Industries (Praj), globally leading process solution Company for Biofuels, Brewery, Process Equipment, Water & Wastewater Treatment and bioconsumables, has received an order for turnkey installation of 40,000 liters per day Extra Neutral Alcohol plant from Illovo Sugar, one of the large sugar groups in Africa.
Sugarcane molasses will be used as feedstock to produce beverage grade alcohol. The project scope includes technology, engineering, equipment supply, site work like civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, commissioning and training. Praj Tanzania, a subsidiary of Praj South Africa (wholly owned subsidiary of Praj Industries, India) will undertake the role of the contractor for this project.
“African Continent is an important market for Praj and is throwing up interesting opportunities not only for African Companies investing in ethanol business, but also Companies from Europe investing in the region,” shared Praj Industries Executive Chairman, Mr. Pramod Chaudhari.
So far, Praj has also received an order for Greenfield ethanol plant from Addax Bioenergy, a project being set up by a European Oil & Petroleum Trading Company. The feedstock used in this plant will be sugarcane juice for ethanol production. The fuel ethanol is expected to be exported to European Union. Praj is also executing a project for producing Fuel Ethanol at Finchaa Sugars, Ethiopia and a project for production of fuel and beverage grade alcohol at Mumias Sugars in Kenya.
