Intrax English Schools Added to SACM ESL Approved List in Saudi Arabia

SAN FRANCISCO - Tuesday, March 19th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE) - Intrax, a San Francisco-based educational company devoted to connecting people and cultures, today announced its three English schools have all been included on the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission’s list of authorized and approved ESL programs. The three ESL schools are located in Chicago, San Diego and San Francisco.

The ESL schools listed on the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission’s list are schools that the organization has confirmed are accredited, offer quality programs, and provide a diverse, cultural experience to their students who want to study English. Saudi students who receive the King Abdullah Scholarship - a full educational scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia - are only authorized to attend U.S. schools on this list. Last month, the King of Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah Bin Abdullaziz, issued an approval for the extension of the scholarship program for another five years.

“We are honored to be included on the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission’s list of approved ESL programs, and to work with the overall organization, as their mission of global education aligns perfectly with Intrax’s mission,” said Heather Ainsworth, vice president global education and training, Intrax. “We are pleased to provide more opportunities for Saudi students to come to the United States, learn English and prepare themselves for futures as global citizens.”

The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission, also known as SACM (www.sacm.org), is a specialized agency created by the Saudi Arabian government to administer programs and policies to meet the educational and cultural needs of Saudi students studying in the United States. It also functions as the intermediary between U.S. education institutions and Saudi Arabia. It aims to provide support and services to the Saudi students and their dependents in the U.S., as well as to strengthen the educational and cultural relations between the Saudi Arabian Kingdom and the United States of America.

In January 2011, the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission’s ESL & Academic Placement Department was founded to ensure and maintain existing and new relationships with ESL programs and universities that are accredited, offer an intensive curriculum, and provide a learning opportunity for Saudi Arabian scholarship recipients. Annually, the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission puts together a list of authorized and approved ESL institutes across the country based on accreditation, quality of academic programs offered, and diversity and saturation rates.

“We love the diversity that Saudi Arabian students bring to our Intrax Centers and are looking forward to working more closely with them in all our schools, but especially in our two Centers in California,” said Jenefer Johnson, center director, Intrax San Francisco.

Intrax operates three ESL Centers in the U.S. The Centers are located in Chicago, San Francisco and San Diego, and provide English Language and Professional Skills classes to more than 2,500 international students every year.
