(BUSINESS WIRE)--Swarovski, the world leader in cut crystal and fashion jewelry, is delighted that the celebrated Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show—this year held in London for the first time—was a spectacular success. The glittering invitation-only event marked the twelfth year of the inspirational partnership between Victoria’s Secret and Swarovski, and took place at Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre on December 2, 2014.

For nearly 120 years, Swarovski has inspired creative talents from the world of fashion, jewelry, accessories, interior design and lighting with its brilliant crystal innovations. It seeks to push the boundaries of creativity and to bring the sparkling glamour of crystal to designer and consumer alike. Since 2002, Swarovski has exclusively provided dazzling crystals to adorn costumes and jewelry of the most glamorous events on the fashion calendar, including the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. This celebrated catwalk extravaganza is where lingerie, and couture meet, as the world's most beautiful models—known as Victoria’s Secret Angels—blaze a trail down the runway.

Black & White Ball

In 2014, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’s overall theme, and that of the lavish after-party, was inspired by the Black & White Ball, a legendary masquerade ball hosted by Truman Capote in 1966. Swarovski, once again, added glittering glamour to the collection, and complemented the runway looks with ornate jewelry pieces on loan from its archive. The result was the most brilliant show yet.

Fairy Tale enchantment

Of particular note, the Fairy Tale section of the show was a dazzling celebration of Victoria’s Secret’s heritage which showcased the breathtaking Angel Wings, a custom look created exclusively for Swarovski. Boasting larger wings, and embellished with more crystals (at over 150,000) than any other outfit in the show’s history, the Fairy Tale outfit was designed by Serkan Cura, the rising star of Parisian couture.

27-year-old British model Lily Donaldson, renowned for her campaigns with Burberry and Gucci and for her appearances on the covers of top-flight publications such as Vogue, brought the exquisite fantasy to life.

A spectacular show

With the most crystals featured in the show to date, Swarovski also added dazzling shine to show themes such as: Gilded Angel, an opulent look featuring exquisite embroidery, beading and crystals; Dream Girl, a sparkling Fifties pin-up and high-end boudoir look; Spicy Adventure, which introduced colorful ethnic and gypsy-inspired outfits; and Urban Pink—think Rihanna meets Cara Delevigne—which made an edgy statement before the glamorous grand finale, the black and white Angel Ball.

Monica Mitro, EVP Brand Communications & Events at Victoria’s Secret said: “We were thrilled to partner with Swarovski on the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Their crystals add a unique shine and brilliance to our collection. That truly can only be achieved by Swarovski.”

Swarovski Executive Board Member Markus Langes-Swarovski states: “We are very proud of our twelve-year partnership with Victoria’s Secret, and excited to welcome the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to London for the first time. Throughout our collaboration we have worked together to delight audiences by lighting up the runway with the highly innovative and creative use of crystals on looks that are among the most intricate and extravagant in the world. Additionally, Swarovski brings glamour to Victoria’s Secret consumers with a stunning retail collection.”

Victoria’s Secret retail collection and limited edition fragrance

The highly exclusive Victoria’s Secret Designer Collection is available at Victoria’s Secret stores and at VictoriasSecret.com. Its ultra-feminine, timeless styles are created using delicate combinations of lace and fine fabrics embellished with Swarovski crystals. Inspired by iconic Parisian fashion, it is an homage to the brand’s seductive heritage. Prices range from $78 to $1,500. Holiday 2014 will see the launch of Heavenly Luxe Edition—a limited edition fragrance that boasts exquisite notes of white musk, sandalwood, vanilla and white peony. The elegant bottle features wings studded with crystals, presented in a special keepsake box, and retails at $250 for 1.7 oz. Other exclusive crystallized products include the stunning Angel Wing Ornament ($98), and the Angel Wing Necklace ($78) made with Swarovski crystals, and as seen on the runway.

Cutting-edge design

The 2014 show came hot on the heels of last year’s event, which was a groundbreaking showcase featuring the first-ever 3D-printed costume in its history. The radiant Snow Angel outfit worn by Victoria's Secret Angel Lindsay Ellingson featured diaphanous snowflake wings that shimmered with thousands of crystals.

This year, the Victoria’s Secret Runway Show will be aired on CBS at 10pm EST on Tuesday, December 9, 2014.
