Etisalat yesterday organised a seminar to discuss ‘Quality Culture’. This event comes as part of a series of seminars that Etisalat is holding for its employees to inculcate quality-culture among them, establish and implement its related concepts at all organizational work levels.
The seminar which is organised by Etisalat’s Quality Department, aims at promoting the concept of quality management and helping in the creation of positive organisational thinking in to achieve better performance standards. In addition, the seminar seeks to define each employee’s role in implementing the quality concepts.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Mutawa, Senior Manager, Quality Management & International Standards at Etisalat, discussed the concepts and importance of maintaining quality for Etisalat and its employees. He also explained the positive impact of quality on the employees’ satisfaction, strategic performance and quality of products.
He said: “Quality Management is widely adopted by many private and public organisations throughout the world as a new way of managing their businesses to improve performance, maximise customer satisfaction, achieve better product quality, minimise waste and reduce non-productive activities to sustain a competitive advantage.”
The seminar elaborated on the importance of employee involvement in order to ensure fairness and equal opportunities; to match their competencies with the organization's needs; and to train and enable their future career growth.
Al-Mutawa also highlighted that studies have shown that there is a positive relationship between employee behavior and the application of quality management programs. The successful implementation of quality management is highly dependent on attitudinal changes and employee behavior in areas such as teamwork, active participation, creativity, innovation, training and development.
Additionally, they discussed the benefits of quality management implementation, such as taking quick corrective action when required, documented procedures that can be easily followed by new employees, retaining or increasing market share as well as boosting sales and revenues.
