The third edition of the annual Korean Food Festival welcomed a huge participation of Korean companies.
The day-long festival brought in a wide variety of Korean foods and beauty and fashion products and services.
The Korean Food Festival, the annual food festival hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai, welcomed its largest participation from Korean food companies. In its third edition, the day-long festival was held at the Address Marina in Dubai recently.
Following the phenomenal success of the first and second editions, the food festival once again paved way for the attendees to explore the authentic Korean food and cultural delights in Dubai, which is a pivotal economic and cultural hub in the Middle East.
Speaking at the event, His Excellency Namduk Heo, Consul General of the Republic of Korea to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, said, “The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea is honored to host the Korean Food Festival in Dubai. Each year, the response to the event has been phenomenal. This year saw an increase in participation from vendors and visitors alike. It is our endeavor to familiarize the world with the beautiful culture of Korea and the rich flavors of our food. The UAE being a melting pot of so many different cultures, this event serves as a gateway to the world to the rich tastes and sounds of Korea.”

The festival witnessed renowned Korean restaurants, grocery chains and bakeries showcasing some of the best Korean dishes, condiments and other specialties. The wide range of dishes on display included Kimchi and Bulgogi as well as modern style snack foods like Tteokbokki and fried chicken. A dedicated seafood counter was set up to indulge seafood lovers in delicious Korean seafood delicacies.
The event was designed in a way that attendees had an enriching and holistic experience of the diverse culture of the country.
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) distributed free samples of the much celebrated Korean beauty products at the event. Known for its beautifying natural ingredients and quality standards, the Korean beauty products are the newest sensation in the beauty and make-up world globally. The K-Beauty booth also offered free consultations from beauty companies to the attendees.
The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) were available at the event to offer insights into Korean tourism and provide useful information to anyone planning to visit Korea.
A live cooking station by the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation showed visitors easy and effective ways to make delicious Korean dishes. The live cooking class was led by renowned Chef Maxime Kim from NAMU, a Korean cuisine restaurant at W Hotel Dubai, which opened its doors recently. Guests were taught to easy techniques to make White Kimchi, one of the more traditional dishes from Korea.
The Samul nori, a traditional Korean dance performance team from the National Gugak Center in Korea added excitement and glamour to the event. There was a performance of Pangut, a mix of percussion music, dance and acrobatics.
