Stimulates social responsibility to reduce accidents

The Ministry of Interior is broadcasting a variety of traffic awareness messages on the National Geographic Abu Dhabi channel. The aim is for citizens and residents to reduce traffic accidents and the associated risks in order to maintain their own safety and contribute in the “Zero Fatalities Vision” to achieve zero deaths on UAE roads.
The Ministry of Interior is cooperating with the National Geographic Abu Dhabi channel to present messages featuring different traffic themes urging individuals to drive safely by adhering to the rules and traffic laws, not running red lights, giving priority to pedestrians at designated areas, and observing speed limits on the roads.
Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Al Khaja, Vice Head of the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s Office, said that this cooperation represents the Ministry of Interior’s strategy to cooperate with various society institutions and sectors in order to reduce traffic accidents. The decline in the number of accidents brings positive statistical indicators at the state level, which further reflects the police leadership's commitment to achieving high success rates towards decreasing accidents. Public safety and the development of effective plans, strategies and innovative initiatives to improve safety on the roads is a priority of the leadership.
He stressed that spreading awareness and promoting the traffic culture, imposing the rule of law and the traffic control provisions at various roads and intersections, and strengthening community partnership with the bodies concerned with traffic safety have contributed to these positive indicators that reflect the significant decline in the number of deaths from road accidents.
He urged citizens and residents to carry out their responsibilities to avoid the traffic accidents. He also highlighted the necessity of cooperation between the family, parents, and community members with the police.
Samer Arzouni, the Executive Producer at National Geographic Abu Dhabi, said that this campaign is to remind viewers of the importance and beauty of life. He further stressed that the channel believes that those who value life drive safely; he highlighted the campaigns’ approach to illustrate the beauty of the world for its viewers.
