Lintel Holding Celebrates Crossing the 2 Million Active Subscribers Mark and the Launch of 3G Services
Beirut, Lebanon - Thursday, October 6th 2011 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Lintel Holding, the parent company of Africell Holding, recently celebrated crossing the 2 million active subscribers mark at its two subsidiaries; Africell Gambia and Africell Sierra Leone. The two operations are leaders in their markets, enjoying more than 60% market share in each territory. Africell is capitalizing on this predominant positioning with the launch of 3G services in both countries, which will create new revenue streams through the introduction of various data based services. In 2011, the group is expected to achieve EBITDA of around USD 40 million with an EBIDTA margin of 41% and is set to launch a 3rd African operation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by April, 2012.
According to Lintel Holding’s C.E.O, Ziad Dalloul, the DRC launch will be "a game changer" given the huge potential the country represents.
