World Organization of Governance & Competitiveness Launched During the Opening of 71st UNGA

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- During the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, H.E. Sheikh Hasina, Heads of State & Government, UN Officials, Ambassadors, celebrities, private sector and hundreds of guests attended a High level Reception for the launch of the World Organization of Governance & Competitiveness at United Nations Plaza honoring the First Anniversary of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

WOGC is a mixed International Organization (IGO, NGO and Government) with special consultative status under the framework of the UNSDGs and the Trifinio Treaty Agreement (El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras). The WOGC mission focuses on implementing SDGs, improving governance and enhancing competitiveness in developing countries through capacity building, sharing of best practices & promotion of public-private partnership.

UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, has stated “All of you are leaders in the campaign for a world without poverty, a thriving planet, a vibrant and inclusive global economy, and a life of dignity for all. Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, highlighted “the importance of global competitiveness and ICT as a tool for sustainable development, and recognized organizations like WOGC to promote the implementation of the UNSDGs."

WOGC President, Cary Yan, expressed WOGCs commitment to work with relevant stakeholders in promoting UNSDGs to the people of the world also addressing the importance of the Assets Digital Cryptology Committee.

ICT Affairs Advisor of Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Mr. Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed, received a WOGC Award for his commitment and outstanding leadership with “Digital Bangladesh Initiative” as tool in boosting development in Bangladesh.

Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs for Guatemala, Anamaria Dieguez Arevalo emphasized global competitiveness as improving economic growth and sustainable development for Central America and appreciation for WOGC initiatives in Trifinio.

Executive National Director of Plan Trifinio El Salvador, Mr. Sergio Bran, who received a WOGC Award for SD and Integration of the Trifinio region, noted the importance of global competitiveness and capacity building to assist local communities improving living conditions.

Evening included Global Fashion for Development art showcase, performances by Grammy Award Winning Violinist Miri Ben-Ari, acclaimed Actor Robert Davi with Musical Director, Robin DiMaggio.
